Life on the Farm #1 | What Slant 3D Does all Week

https://tinyurl.com/4zpyhkx6 — Get an OilStick for your 3D printer.

This week at Slant 3D got a little out of hand.

Thousands of new 3D printing jobs hit the production queue, OilStick production kept ramping, new employees were getting trained, and software problems started stacking up at exactly the wrong time.

At one point, we had roughly 8,000 jobs come into the system. Then GitHub went down while we were trying to fix production software. We ran low on carts and shelving for finished parts, shifted dozens of printers onto large production jobs, and had people from across the company jumping into post-processing just to keep everything moving.

This video is a little different from our normal design and manufacturing content. We followed the team around to show what a real week inside a large-scale 3D printing operation looks like when nearly everything is growing at the same time.

OilStick production is increasing, Portals is growing, new manufacturing customers are coming onboard, software is evolving, and the print farm keeps getting busier.

This is the less polished side of scaling additive manufacturing.
